Today further testing begins with clerical staff at School District No. 63 (Saanich). Our team appreciates the support and continued enthusiasm for openStudent and it's continued development.

MTB and ePortfolio Workshops

Recently held workshops at openStudent generated rich and innovative discussions around the delivery of education both now and into the future.  Progressive thinkers from multiple districts shared their ideas with the development team regarding flexible time tabling strategies, as well as assessment tools, ePortfolios, teacher portals, student portals and a wide variety of functionality that will support students and educators as we move towards 21st Century Learning.

Sprint 54

Sprint 54 was recently completed.  The Incidents component allows a "Delete After" indicator for individual incidents at an individual student level.  Notifications regarding an Incident can be sent to multiple staff.  Preferred Gender fields have been added to the Student Registration screen.  Multiple Bell Schedules allow for Find a Student in a variety of school days.

Sprint 52 completed

Sprint 52 was completed on Friday with the development of a rapid attendance-taking screen for teachers, enhanced filters for student searches, and the beginning development of Mark Entry.

Presentation to BCTF January 9, 2014

On Jan 9, the BCTF invited the openStudent team to present the business case and give a demonstration of openStudent to senior staff.  The presentation was well received and will be followed up with a webinar for teachers on January 23 as well as three other engagements in the coming months.

Sprint 51 was completed on Friday - added functionality included: Mass Delete Programs, "Forgot Your Password" feature, Maximum Class Seats, Mark Scale, Reporting Periods, Multiple Bell Schedules.
